about

I’m a producer, audio engineer, and multi-instrumentalist. Most notably, I played a vital role in the creation of the Freelance Whales’ debut album Weathervanes. I was the producer, engineer, and mixer record that led to the band’s signing with French Kiss and Mom+Pop Records. Their songs have been featured in shows on ABC, HBO, and in films. Weathervanes debuted in the Top 20 on Billboard's Heatseeker chart, and the album's closing track, "The Great Estates," was tapped by Spin Magazine as "The #1 Song You Must Hear Right Now." Freelance Whales are poised for a huge year as one of the top buzz bands of 2010. I continue working with the band, mixing their live and acoustic recordings for release on iTunes and across the blogosphere. Their song “Generator First Floor” has been used in campaigns both by Twitter and Starbucks, generating millions of views.

Since 2006, I’ve been freelance audio engineer and music producer. I’ve worked with both independent singer/songwriters/bands as well as label projects, including Foreigner, Patty Smyth, Cheap Trick, Stargroves, and S-Curve artists Diane Birch and Care Bears on Fire. I’ve also engineered and mixed live sessions for many noteworthy artists as part of AT&T's "Blue Room" series and the New York Times podcast "Popcast," including Jonsí from Sígur Ros, The Black Keys, Grace Potter, Josh Ritter, The Morning Benders, Butch Walker, VV Brown, and Angelique Kidjo.

I am deeply involved with the non-profit organization Road Recovery, regularly producing songs for their Performance Workshop programs for sober teens. I've recorded and mixed live benefit concerts, spent a day in Sing-Sing prison (just recording, honestly!), and gotten to work with some of Road Recovery's biggest supporters including featuring Wayne Kramer of MC5, Tom Morello, Billy Bragg, and Perry Farrell, and Slash.

I have a BA from Rutgers University in American History and I studied music technology at New York University. I live in Fort Greene, Brooklyn for the time being.
